Holley 600 with vacuum secondaries... get a spring kit as well so you can toy with how fast you want the secondaries to open.

It was my experience that with an overall stock set up other than a set of headers and dual exhaust(2"), and the intake(Performer)/carb combo, that the lightest spring that was in the spring kit really ran well... no bogs, no flat spots... through 5500 RPMs. I then got greedy... went to a 2 1/4" exhaust, and a Holley 700 double pumper, Performer RPM... It felt a bit flat off the line, but great as the engine reved past 6k... which isn't something recommended for a stock 302. Overall, I think that the 600 was the better carb for that motor.
