I have one in my basement for $300. If its not sold locally I will post it here. Im also throwing in flywheel, balancer, fork.

Longevity depends on how you drive it. Yes, it will bolt up, and no it won't bottom out on the crank. A friend of mine has been running one for 2 years behind a decent 306. Just remember to change the pilot back out before you would try to put in a v8 t5 down the road. Also if the 4cyl is a world class, you can use it for a core to put a nice gear set in after it's shot.

While the 4 cylinder T-5 may appear to be the same, they are not. Most 4 cylinder T-5s received a 3.97 gear set with a .79 overdrive and small input pilot bearing shaft. Four cylinder T-5's should not be used behind a V-8, even when the pilot bearing id is decreased to match. Simply put, they will not hold up. Torque rating ~240ft/lbs. Besides first gear is much too low to be usable behind a high horse power car.

Exactly right, they are not the same. Different gear set altogether that is a wide ratio, Might work nicely if you still have stock rear gears, I think I will try one in my 91 GT, if nothing else to get by. About anything is better than an AOD for this guy
, all it has for mods now is exhaust. Let us know what you do, and how it works out. |
