Early 289/302 firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
This changed with the HO 302 (5.0) in 1985 I believe. All 351Ws are 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8, which is the same as the HO 302 (5.0) You can swap cams back and forth but you have to be careful with the roller cams, because they will not work with a non roller motor.
