It appears the previous owner already did that. In fact it has been tightend so far that the steering wheal will not return after going around a corner. It turns quite easily the fist couple times around but then it gets very difficult. I am assuming the worm gear is badly worn in the center. I have been checking out a bolt on called "Steeroids" its a rack an pinion set up that bolts right on. Its supposed to be an upgrade over stock and it cost only slightly more than a new gear box. www.speeddirect.com for more info
