A 9" slick on an 8-8.5" wheel would be much easier to fit, and a 9" slick with a good suspension will hook for 9 sec ets I know. A 10.5" slick will work on an 8.5" with a lot of sidewall flex, I would think 9" would be better for that sized wheel.
