yes L is for the 250 cid inline six. I am not sure about the weight difference though. What kida of springs do u want to chance to? All u have to do is make sure u get the v8 springs and not the 6 springs. If u take it to the track I will be easy to get some drag spirngs for it. I had a hell of a time finding drag springs for mine. I finally did though.
