![]() Yeah, they got the truck head because the E6 heads on the 1986 GT's were pathetic. Ford had to come up with something to boost performance, and quick. The truck heads were used because of that.
The trucks are also listed as "5.0". The 5.0 is actually a 4.9L, partially to avoid confusion with the 4.9L 300ci I-6 used in the truck line, Ford called it the 5.0. 4"x3" actually comes out to 4949cc. You know, kinda like the 351 is really a 352. The only other reason I could see Ford calling it a 5.0 is it just sounds better. |
