![]() My 289 block is the original and I don't think it has been bored out. The only problem around here is finding a good machine shop to do the short block. I've heard lots of horror stories and I want to take my time rebuilding this motor.
I like the crate motor idea because swapping it in should only take a few days. Then I can have my car to drive while I rebuild the 289. Kind of an expensive way to go, but cheaper than throwing a rod and having to start over again.
