![]() The 85 was the first year of the 85-86 bodystyle. It had a Holley 4bbl carb that carried over, but the big news was the "world class" T-5 that replaced the weaker T-5's from the 1983-1984 GT's along with the roller cam. The 85 may have had some other little changes in the engine compartment, I can't remember if the intake manifold was different? Anyway, it was rated at 210hp. The 7.5" rear end was maintained and a host of upgrades were made in 1986 as well, but the 85 to me will be a true collector.
The non world class T-5 and the "world class" models were rated with the same torque handling capacity, but the world class got a better 3.35:1 1st gear ratio with the upgraded internals. |
