so I wouldn't have to drill the original hole out if I were to tap it for 1/4 npt? Has anyone actually done this while the engine was in the car? Maybe if I stuffed a small plug of paper towel in the hole first to prevent any metal shavings from getting to the lifter and lifter bore, and used some grease on the tap to collect the shavings, it could be done?
