I've heard a few good and bad things. I can't remember the specifics. I can say that I've heard more good than bad, though. The only real drawback I can see is that they're production line builders. They don't usually tailor an engine for someone's particular needs. If you're only getting a bare block, you should be fine. No reputable shop could screw up block preperation (at least I hope not).
