A few things I would check inlcude:

- remove the oil filler cap, start the car and check for blowby
- pull the dipstick and check the condition of the oil on a white towel or rag.
- check for uneven tire wear
- bounce the car, front and back, to check the condition of the struts and shockes
- open the radiator cap and look at the condition of the coolant...is there rust? (do this whenthe engine is cool )
- check signs of accident damage...around the radiator core support, etc.
- while driving the car, remove hands from wheel ...does it track straight or pull to one side or another?

Btw, it should have come from the factory with a traction-lok (posi) diff'l.

Hope this helps!
