DECEMBER 2000 HOT ROD MAGAZINE HAS AN ARTICLE ABOUT POWER TUNING A '68 302 WITHA MILD CRANE CAM, PERFORMER INTAKE, 585 CFM HOLLEY CARB & HEADERS. THEY SET FOUND OPTIMAL INITIAL TIMING TO BE 14 DEGREES ADVANCED WITH THE STOCK POINTS DIUSTRIBUTOR. THE HAYNES MANUAL SAYS 6 DEGREES WITH THE C-CODE 289 & 12 DEGREES WITH 289 H.P. HOPE THAT HELPS.
