I hear ya oldtimer! Can't say I remember the sixties as I was 1 in '70. my dad has Carter's on his Mopars.
I have a 625 carter AVS on one of my 383's;very reliable. I offered to put one of my carters on and he won't because it isn't chrome or polished. Do you see why I work on it and hot him? The Mustang is a real looker though.

Float level is perfect by the way. I will check in with results on new carb.
