C4 rebuild. Need some quick guidance.

Hmmm, now you guys got me thinking (can't really say if that's a good or bad thing ).

I did see a few C4s for sale in Summit at decent prices ($700 to $900 is my price range) and that is now another option. In consideration of this new option, I seek more guidance from the all-knowing Mustang Works masters. I am not familiar with tranny brand names. Also, I will definately put a trans cooler and aftermarket shifter in the car (maybe-- still considering the 'shifter' option). I need suggestions on purchasing a C4 (I know I'm being really general). My goal for the '79 is for a mid to low 11 sec street car. Don't want too high of a stall either. Need suggestions on shifter and tranny.

Basically, if I were to buy a C4 from Summit or Dynamic Racing Transmissons, etc, it needs to be able to back up AT LEAST a 450 hp blown motor, w/ neck-snapping shifting capabilities, and be under $900. I don't want to put it in. I'd rather a shop install it so I have to add labor to that. (In this case, I just don't want to deal with the removal and installation process-- just don't feel like it).
