The reason your fuel pump goes on and of is because of the pip sensor in the dist. It is called the primary ignition pickup sensor and when the dist is moved in any way (being cranked or moved by hand) it does this.
The idle air bypass is on the side of the throttle body. It is long and cylindrical looking with a little black connector on the end. Take this off and clean it good with carb or brake cleaner. Do you have an open element K&N filter? If so you could be getting fan wash. Play with the position of your mass air meter and see if it idles better. Good Luck, Jason |
