the stock HP isnt that high on those years... but you CAN build them to make alot of torque... 500 ft/lbs is pretty easy.. a set of early heads, mild cam and headers... and it's a bolt in..

the only way you'll make more power with a small block is with a blower or N20...and you can put those on the big block too ;-)
