I know this will work for Mustangs 87 and up.... ( I did it to my 92 and my friends 01)

There is a fuel pump shut off switch in the rear of the car. It is on the driver side for the fox body's and 99-02 models. I am assuming it's the same for the 94-98 models. It's is hidden in the plastic stuff right behid the tail lights inside the trunk. They have this so if a person read-ends you, the fuel automaticaly shuts off.

There is a little red round button on the top of it. Start the car and keep it in park/neutral. Then trip the switch. This will cut off the pressure from the pump to the engine. The car will die a few seconds later.

Unscrew the gas cap and that will releave any pressure in the tank. Gasoline weighs 7lbs per gallon so make sure that you run the car's gas as low as possible before you do this. If you make the gas inside as light as possible, it will make the job that much easier.

After you install the pump, don't forget to reset the switch and put the gas cap back on. Prime the car. All you have to do for that is turn the key like you are going to start it but don't. You will be able to hear the fuel pump wine. You should be all set.
