With less money in the car the 95 5.0L will be faster. The 4.6L engine is still a good engine, and if you want to go with a blower I'd probably recommend the 96 GT (if you had the money). But $ for $ the 95 GT will be faster.

If you're buying a used car, it's up to you to have the car inspected and looked over well. Buying any used car comes with some risk, that's the advantage to buying new! My 95 GT has around 70,000 miles on it and is still in really good shape. It has needed some tuning, but runs really well now.
