![]() You should be able to run 14 intial with 87 octane. Especially since you live up north. Lower air intake temps allow more timing with less octane.
I use to run my stock motor at 15 with 87 octane in the winter and 89 octane in the summer. Remember 15 intial is only 31 total. But you can't advance it too much because you will run into problems with too much timing at 3krpm because you've manual advanced a preset curve. Performance wise, sbf's make peak power around 36-42 toal. With the speedbrain and now the eec-tuner I've run my n/a setups around 36. Brad
