				 |  Underhood mat Can the underhood mat -- which I assume is for noise control -- be removed without any negative effects?

				 |  Underhood insulation mat Jeb: Sure, it can be removed but it isn't pretty underneath and you'll get more engine noise coming through. Not much chance of paint problems with it removed. Your call here. |

				 |   Pulled mine out last year. Haven't had any paint problems, but it is fugly under there. I used a razor to cut out the exposed goo between the hood panels and repainted those spots, looks great now. |

				 |  nothing but a dust mop took mine off 3 days after i bought my notch,that was 11 yrs ago and the motor and hood still look like bran new

				 |   I yanked it right after dinner. IMHO, I think it looks a lot better. I bought a notch because they're the lightest and stiffest 'Stangs. I like the taut, purposeful look of the car. The exposed hood crossmembers just make it look like the weight is pared down to the absolute minimum. Plus, how often do I have the hood open?  |
