![]() Lysholm (really 2nd generation Roots blowers) are more efficient than centrifugal blowers and make power instantly.
Centrifugal units (Vortech, Paxton, etc are the least efficient, the BEST being a turbocharger. Adiabatic lapse rates and efficiency ratings favor the Kenne Bell Lysholm blowers, which do not take any more power from the motor than centrifugal units. Centrifugal units don't start making power until 3,000 RPM and it comes up much slower than a Lysholm blower. The main difference between a Lysholm and a roots (screw-type) are the male/female lobes that are unique to them. Why do you think dragsters (guys really concerned about boost) run nothing but Lysholm blowers? |
