![]() You didn't say anything on AIM about why you are replacing it.
What happened? Did you just suddenly lose all oil pressure? Are you sure its not the sending unit? Under the car won't be easy. If you have access to a engine hoist, then you support the motor by that, remove the motor mount bolts, and loosen the tranny crossmember. Then you should be able to lift the motor enough to get the oilpan to clear the K-member. You might wanna take off your swaybar just for a little extra clearance (and one less thing to bang your hands on). How many miles do you have on your motor? If its pretty high, then I'd pull the motor, so you can replace the bearings. You could also easily pull the heads and do some porting, new springs and a valve job. But if you are on a tight budget, and dont mind having dirt and rust fall in your eyes, then crawl underneath it and go at it. Just make sure you get the pan to block mating surface really clean, and use gasket tack to hold the oil pan gasket on while you slide it back up in there. good luck with it man, later
