![]() On a more technical note, the reason that it turned on when you revved the engine is cause the brake booster is operated by the engine's vacuum. To see, put your car in neutral, left foot on brake and give a little pressure and then push gas with right. You will feel the brake pedal go down further/get easier to push b/c as the engine revs, the vacuum goes up.
