The speedbrain is a computer programmed to the specs of your car. If you plan on adding other mods, I would wait to have one programmed, since I am not sure whether it can be reprogrammed andit isn't cheap. Until that time, I would stick with what you have. My computer is still stock, but I wouldn't mind upgrading to an X3Z, only because it's calibrations are closer to the specs of my car(increased MAF and larger injectors). However, in the long run, since I plan on adding a Kenne Bell roots style SC, I will want to go with a programmable ECM, such as the SpeedBrain You said you were told in order for your car to run correctly that the A9L would fix the problem, how is your stang running incorrectly?
