![]() The Toyota Supra TT has a 3.0 6 cylinder engine with 320 HP and does mid-to-high 13's in the quarter. A 'real' sports car with excellent handling, brakes and gobs of TT power.
The '99 GT has a 4.6 V-8 with 260 HP and runs low 14's in the quarter. A '95 Supra TT runs around $18,000. retail. Newer models are higher, of course but these cars are also rather rare, not easily found at the local car lot. A '99 GT runs around $16,000. but will probably have lower mileage on it. For the price of a seven-year-old Toyota Supra with mileage in the 70,000 range you could buy a nice 2000 Mustang GT with about 30,000 miles on it. Insurance may be higher on the Supra, too. Unless your heart is set on a Japanese turbo-powered car, the Mustang is a much better buy all around and with a few mods (gears, exhaust) can match the Supra TT in performance. |
