![]() Jen, Smokedawg is right. I would look for a '87-'92 5.0 LX or GT. these cars came from the factory with forged pistons. Try to find out what your husband's Camaro ran at the track and go from there. Check your local classifieds and the used car lots for a good running 5.0. Before you purchase the car, have a mechanic check it out. Pay him or her to do a compression test and overall checkup. You can answer the "auto or stick" question yourself. Which one are you the most comfortable with? There's got to be a few Performance shops up in Oregon. Find one that's does good work and tell them what your plans are for the car.
