Smokedawg and Nitrous Al are both right, it doesn't take much to beat a pre 93 Camaro or Trans AM. My brother has had 2 Trans AMs with 350's in them, I have even had one myself and they aren't that fast. He had an 86 GTA and we built up a monster motor for it, tranny work, gears, exhuast and suspension work. The car still only ran 12's. My buddies '88 Mustang GT with only suspension work exhaust and gears would always keep up with it! Camaros are much heavier than Stangs so unless your husbands Camaro runs less than 13's then you should be able to beat him with just minor work.
