Lightbulb Dieting

Not a lot you can do to reduce weight and still have a livable vehicle once the A/C is out and the seats and stereo stay in.

I would suggest a fiberglass hood and possibly some lighter wheels (non-steel) as well as dumping any excess baggage and cleaning up the engine compartment (lose emissions components - if possible).

Your '82 probably doesn't weight much over 3,000 pounds as it sits now which is plenty light by today's standards.
