4.10 or 3.73 ratio, at least for your '95 convert with AOD.

Lower rear differential gears give no HP gain (that's in the engine) but they will increase the transfer of torque to the rear wheels and you accelerate faster. Basic Mustang mod; about $200. for the gears alone. The only negative is that you may use a little more gas and lose a tiny bit on the top end. If the gears aren't installed properly, they can whine and wear out quickly. While your mechanical friends are working in the pumpkin, check the Traction - Lok discs as they often need rebuilding, too. Low-cost repair; big gain.

Consider installing an AOD shift kit, too. Again, no HP gain but faster, harder shifts for better performance. About $100. Change the fluid to synthetic, too.

Yes, you can. You need a timing light, an ignition wrench and some chalk. If you have friends who can install rear gears, ask them to advance your timing and show you what to do. It's fairly simple and takes about 10 minutes.

Remove the air silencer (free), install a K&N filter and remove your catalytic converters or get low-restriction cats ($200. - up) as they waste a lot of HP.

Underdrive pullies ($100.) are worth some HP (about 5-7) but you need a excellent charging system or you'll have 'battery' trouble.

Sub-frame connectors are a good investment for your 'vert (about $100. - $150.) They stabilize the body for better launches and overall handling. Be sure they're welded - not just bolted - in.

For $800. (or less) Do the gears, shift kit, cat removal/replacement, sub-frame connectors, pullies, K&N, timing advance plus a total tune-up (plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, gas filter, PCV replacement and check of your TPS and cleaning of the IAC/throttle body and you should notice a big difference in your Mustang's performance.
