You will never make peak power at 6000 RPM with a stock cam.

My combo is a rebuilt 302 with an E-303 with 1.72 rockers, mildly ported TFS TW heads, Holley Systemax intake, 65 mm throttle body, 24 lb injectors, C&L 73 meter, and equal shorties.

My peak power on the dyno was at 5800 RPM. Which means I should shift at approx. 6000 RPM for the best time slip.

If you are reading your stock tachometer, it is waaaay off. They all are. Mine reads 7 grand when my Autometer says 6000.
