it depends on what you buy to a certain extent. I put a 4bbl intake and carb on my stock 67 and the hood clearance was not a problem. i'm not sure how much difference there is in hood clearance between a 66 and a 67, but i don't think it will be a problem. you can measure it if you want. take the height of the intake and carb and air cleaner, then compare it to the distance from the top of the center of the block to the hood. if you're buying a new air cleaner as well there are some cleaners that are very low profile which will give you that extra inch or two if you need it.
