the equal lengths do deliver more hp due to the better scavenging because of the equal length, but they are harder to install. The only problem is that you have to jack up the motor on the passenger side to get the passenger side header on. i have the BBK 1 5/8" chrome equal length headers and they have held up great for 5 years, but if i had to do it again i would get the ceramic coated ones. They last longer and they keep heat in the exhaust to help improve scavenging, plus keep a little out from under the hood. good luck
