I think the full lengths go back to the torque box, not sure, im sure they are worth the extra money, also you should look into the cross/seat brace set,

you should just paint them yourself, mine were black but after welding they had inperfections, and little rust within a couple days so i hit it with some black rustoleum under my car, they look good, and no more rust, I say go for the full lengths though.
