Installation won't be cheap at any kind of dealer/garage because its a 18-20+hr job by the books. Hopefully he has some "hook-ups" or "connections" so he can get a decent price. I would even see if I could become friends with a local Ford tech and see if he would do it on the side for a sweet price.
If he gets the head swap and doesn't want forced induction for a few years down the road, thats perfect. Because he then can have a short block built with all forged parts and he can have whatever CR he wants (meaning new pistons are the best bet for lowering the CR.) Then he'll have an engine capable of over 500hp safely.
