welli hate to spoil the question but it wasnt who had the highest ford v8 in history so i will bring up a little aviation tidbit.

Rolles Royce designed a nitrous injected v-8 prototype for high alltitude that would hit 16000 rpm in a power dive .

it was scrapped due to high cost mechanical fuel injection wear. and parts supply . also a v8 wasnt to popular but required due to the other hardware that was needed to control fuel starvation in roll over and the size of the mechanical injection.

during WWII alot of things were tried and scrapped but the british did go ahead and plum some spitefires and hawkers with n2o to boost performance levels.

a motor designed to run on nitrous and aviation fuel right out of the box. also a huge player in the build up of flighing machines wasnt a enginer but a car guy who did mods to planes and then got caught and got requited to help the engineers get more hp out of war birds while engineers wanted reliability he got his piolets speed they needed .
