Cobra:
DOHC V-8
Valve train: 4 overhead camshafts
Valves: 32 (4 per cylinder)
Pistons: Full floating alloy
Connecting Rods: sinter forged with fracture split ends Crankshaft: Forged steel
Cylinder block: 6-bolt main
Extras: camshafts are more aggressive
improved oiling system
'96-'98 HP & TQ SAE-net 305 HP @ 5,800 rpm
300 lbs.-ft. of torque @ 4,800 rpm

Mark VIII:
DOHC V-8
Valve train: 4 overhead camshafts
Valves: 32 (4 per cylinder)
Pistons: Standard
Connecting Rods: standard
Crankshaft: standard
Cylinder block: 6-bolt main
Extras: EEC pin outs are different
'97-98 LSC: 290 HP @ 5,750 rpm
295 lbs.-ft. of torque @ 4,500 rpm
