Well i read an article that said the cable rarely stretches, it has something to do with the rubber thing at the firewall, it rubbs through and creates more slack, so this is why the firewall adjuster cures 'most' problems, so i hear, so im going to find out soon, i started to mut mine in (d&d quadrant, and frwall adjstr), but lost my dang needle nose pliers, this is going to be a (*$#% i know it....... but i'll post when i get it done.
sometimes at the track i have to force it into gear
