Wow this is getting intresting... sorry to say but I have to side with sedanman and the rest of the guy in that an ls1 will slaughter you at freeway speeds... it's SIMPLE MATH ls1=305hp 87gt= we'll go way high and say 250hp

305-250=55hp that he has up on you and if I remember correctly 10hp=.1 in the 1/4 or a car length which would mean he should beat you by at least 5 cars lengths.... as to the stock 99 gts beating ls1's... maybe but not from a high speed roll or up to high speeds unless the ls1 is missing shifts or can't drive or something...... let's do the math again 305-260=45 or .45 in the 1/4 and almost 5 car lengths again..... and yes there is the gearing and weight factor to be considered too but it still doesn't make up the difference..... not saying the ls1's are untouchable just way freaking quicker stock vs stock than your 87 or a new gt.
