Ok this just pissed me off......

Well I know I just installed my Perma-Cool 16" Elec> fan and the !&) degree thermo switch> i also ran a toggle inside so i can manually override the switch if i wanted to you must run run toggle through a relay to prevent all that voltage coming through the switch.

I went with the Perma-Cool over the over priced BLACK MAGIC because I already had the Stewart pump, a Ron Davis alum radiator and with a 195 thermo my car barley ran 180 degrees. Now I have yanked the AC so the radiator will see more air, so I added the Perma-cool($83.00) which pulls 2100cfm at 3000rpms, and I left my 195 thermo in for now, if I need to I will swap it out for the 180.

Sorry to hear about your luck with that fan but I saw a post not long ago where a guy had all the blades break off, reason unknown, there were a couple replies complaining about that fan.
