as far as the daytime running lights go, i'm not 100% positive where it is on your car, but on mine which is a 2000, the daytime running light is located on the inside of the front bumper on the driver's side. if you look under the bumper you should see a wire harness going into what looks like a plug. unplug the harness and it should disable the daytime running lights. by unplugging this harness i can run my parking lights and fogs.
