I have a 92 gt. I got under the car and got a good grip on the drive shaft. I put some muscle into it and twisted it both ways. The forward u joint was going out and there was some play. Not the rattling type of play like you get from the transmission. I wouldn't even call it lose. The play is more of a heavy shift in the driveshaft. Good luck.
