Gee, I never have that problem with my EFI
Bah! You sound like a friend of mine. EFI costs too much to build, at least that's my opinion. Also, I'm pretty new at this stuff so I like to keep it simple.

sounds like it coulda been alot worse ,did it mess up the paint on the hood at all
Nope. I got the hood up as soon as I noticed the flame. I was more worried about the hood warping than the paint. I still have paint left, so I'd have just resprayed it. Thanks for the congrats. It's a good thing they don't show pics of the interior or engine though.

I did get the tranny problems somewhat straightened out. I put an 8.8 rear in over the weekend and most of the noise disapeared. That funny noise I heard at the track was actually the rear. The synchros are bad in second gear and the clutch is slipping. I think the flywheel is glazed. I picked up a used flywheel today and I'll get it resurfaced later this week. Sometime within the next few weeks I'll get it in, along with a new disk. I'm also going to put my other tranny back in. All those noises I heard in it were actually in the rear end, so I have a good T-5 in the basement!

I may actually get to make a pass or two at the track this summer.
