![]() Well I have an 87 Mustang LX with a factory 4 cylinder and automatic trans. I want to drop in a V8 302, and I am curious if the original trans would work. If not, then I am worried that if I drop in an AOD that would be compatable with the new V8, that the computer stuff that hooks up to it would not be compatable. I am afraid I do not know that much about transmissions and how they work with the computer.
Now the V8 I am dropping in will be carburated, not EFI, so the computer stuff there will not really matter. All in all what I am wanting to accomplish is having this really sweet looking Stang, with a beefy V8 smoking the tires at the drag strip, but also nice enough to cruise around town in with the top down.
