So you've got the 89 for $400??? Is there a missing zero in there? I'm not really getting the dilema you're having.

You have a weaker engine/transmisson combination in a 1979 that you're selling, and you want to cannibalize the new car to sell the old one? You're not making much sense.

You sell the old car as is. Then you drive the new car as is. Mod it later.
