Yes, there is a noticable difference when you replace the factory shifter with an afrtermarket shifter. I have the PRO 5.0 and love it, as most everyone does but there is a little transmission noise transfer, which I don't mind a bit.
Sometimes this is due to loose transmission mounts or just a worn transmission that the factory rubber bushings help quiet.

I've heard a lot of good things about the TRI-AX shifter and would bet that it's a good piece based on what I've seen posted about it here, so that's a distinct possibility, especially if quiet operation is important to you. Either way, anything is better than the factory shifter - as everyone with an aftermarket piece will tell you.
