I totally understand what you're going thru. I had a cat that lived to be almost 18 years old. I was like 3 or 4 when we got him. SO I basically grew up with the little guy. He seemed to be pretty strong when I left for college, but halfway through my college career, he became very weak and eventually, had to be put down. I thought it wouldn't be all that hard, but I couldn't even drive home for at least an hour because of the tears in my eyes. You develop almost human relationships with animals. Sorry to hear about your situation.
