![]() The snorkel (air silencer) was put on by Ford to keep the intake quiet, but when you get it off, you probably won't notice a difference. The snorkel is in the fender wall (cooler air) behind the panel filter. To get to it, unclip the air box (as if you were changing the air filter) and remove the air filter. You may want to take the airbox part that you unclipped off temporarily for easier access. There are 2 or 3 nuts that hold the snorkel on, undo them, and you will hear it fall into the fender wall. Now, figure out how to get the snorkel out. Once your don, put the filter back in and the airbox back together. Removing the snorkel and adding a K&N is supposed to be worth about a tenth in the quarter.
