I believe you also have to put the MSD power (small Red Wire) on the positive on the coil also. I just recently installed mine. I havent tried cranking it yet but I believe by the instructions i got that the orange and red wire must be on the hot side of the coil.
Someone else please verify but I think will solve your problem.

p.s. If not where does the extras red wire go?????
