On top of the problems smokedchevy mentioned, I think PD suffers or at least suffered from quality control, they just didn't have it. Before I purchased mine, I called around to some speed shops to get their input on PD superchargers. The ones I spoke to claimed the BD-11A model, like mine, are not breaking at the alarming rate the earlier models were. They haven't had too many customer complaints on the new models. This obviously isn't a scientific study, just my own research.

I do worry every time I step on the throttle whether or not the internal belt or bearing will give out. Yet they can make decent power though, just look at my sig. I have put about 2500miles on mine with 10 1/4 mile passes without a hiccup. Only time will tell if it will last.

I would still recommend Vortech or ATI unless you can't afford them. I got such a great deal on mine, brand new, I couldn't pass it up. I really wanted the new P-1SC but just couldn't fit it in my budget. Good luck.
